Floss
According to a Lou Harris/Teledyne survey, 93% of people believe that flossing is important. But when asked when they last flossed, almost half of those surveyed couldn't remember the last time and almost 20% cheerfully admitted that they never flossed. Only about 1 in 3 claimed to actually floss once a day and even that figure is suspect.
Given that flossing is such a repugnant chore, it's nice to know that one brand of floss is much easier to use. It may not make flossing fun, but it sure makes it easier.
Where most floss is made from
nylon, Glide®
is made from an
expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, better known as Gore-TEX®. Unlike
conventional floss, Glide will
not fray or shred and is much easier to
slip between tight teeth. In published clinical studies, users found Glide
to be easier to insert and easier to use without shredding.
Compared to conventional floss, 75% of users preferred Glide.
